Connect your device to your computer
1. Insert one end of the USB cord into your TomTom GPS device.
2. Insert the USB cable's opposite end into a computer's available USB port.
3. Click Open folder to view files when prompted.
4. In the newly opened folder, double-click on the MyDrive Connect icon.
5. Wait for your computer to identify your device.
6. After seeing a notification, select Run MyDrive Connect.
7. The MyDrive Connect window will open and update you on the status of the device connection.
8. Your TomTom GPS device will be visible in the MyDrive Connect window once the connection has been made.

Launch MyDrive Connect
Make sure your TomTom GPS device is linked to your computer using the USB cord that was included.
Once your device is linked, use MyDrive Connect, a free application that can be found on the TomTom website.
in order to use the program, you may need to create an account or log in to an existing one.
MyDrive Connect should show your device after you log in.
Click "Updates" and wait for the program to check for any available updates.
Check for updates
1. Open your TomTom device in MyDrive Connect.
2. Click on “My Content” at the top of the screen.
3. If a new map or software version is available, you will see it listed.
4. Click on the “Update” button to start the update process.
5. Depending on the size of the download, the update procedure could take several minutes.
6. Unplug your TomTom device from your computer once the update has done downloading.
7. With the most recent maps and software upgrades installed, your TomTom is now ready for usage.
Install the updates
1. When the MyDrive Connect software asks you to update your device, click "Install Now".
2. Click "Allow" if a prompt asking for consent to install the update displays.
3. Hold off until the update has finished downloading, which could take a few minutes or more.
4. You'll be informed that your device is updated after the installation is finished.
When the update is complete,
1. Disconnect your TomTom device by doing one of the following.
2. On the MyDrive Connect window, click the "Disconnect" button in the top right corner.
3. After being unplugged from the USB wire, your TomTom gadget will be removed from your computer.
You can now take advantage of all the newest features and gain access to enhanced accuracy, quicker routing, and more thanks to the updated TomTom GPS! Take pleasure in your journeys with your freshly upgraded TomTom GPS.
Disconnect your device
1. Choose "Disconnect" from the menu on your TomTom device.
2. On your PC, select the TomTom device icon.
3. Choose "Safely Remove Hardware" or "Eject" from the options.
4. To check that it has been disconnected, press the "OK" button on your TomTom device.
5. Unplug the USB cable connecting your PC and TomTom device.
Your outdated TomTom GPS has now been successfully updated, and you can disconnect it. You can now resume your navigation!
